Hillary Clinton Reminds Us Again That She’s Not Running For President
12:15 pm, May 7th | by Laura Donovan
She has said it before and she’ll say it again: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is not going to run for president at any point in time, even though she would like to see a female commander-in-chief in the White House during her life. Does this mean everyone is finally going to shut up about the possibility of a second President Clinton in the Oval Office? Probably not.
At a townhall meeting in India, the former first lady expressed a desire for a more private life over the high profile existence of a president, “I would like to come back to India and just wander around without the streets being closed. I just want to get back to taking some deep breaths, feeling that there are other ways [I] can continue to serve.”
I hate to break it to you, Clinton, but you’re probably going to be swarmed by people your entire life. Even if you visit India after you’re done with your current position, you’ll still be talked about and photographed. But that’s beside the point. Clinton has cast down presidential run rumors for a while, and though her repeated statements on the matter should quiet chatter about her seeking office again, it’s unlikely that the public will let the prospect go anytime soon — especially with the diverse media attention she has received as of late.
