It’s important to remember in this dark time of government shutdown and Fox ordering six more scripts from Dads that sometimes America gets it right. Remember when Justin Guarini didn’t win American Idol? 100% on that test, America! The day on which Quvenzhané Wallis was born: another A+ day! Today The Hollywood Reporter announced that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the Golden Globes for the next two years. A flawless decision like that gets you out of the doghouse for three more weeks of shutdown, America.
It comes as no surprise that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Globes producers have been clamoring for the pair’s return: Poehler and Fey’s first stint as hosts drew in 19.7 million viewers, a six-year high for the ceremony. With the duo at the helm, the Golden Globes generated a 6.4 rating in the elusive 18-49 demo, a 28 percent increase from the previous year.
“Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business, and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season,” NBC president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy told The Reporter. “We’re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.”
