Quote Of The Day: “Women Disproportionately Are Driving” The TV Industry

“TV, especially the world of cable, is ascendant, and women disproportionately are driving it,” writes editor Janice Min in the introduction to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Women in Entertainment 2011: Power 100 list.
She continues: “It’s no coincidence that four of the top five women on this year’s Power 100 list come from the medium.”
The list is topped by Anne Sweeney, President of Disney/ABC TV. Also up top are the heads of A&E, NBC television, History and Lifetime networks, Fox television, and CBS. There are lots of movie studio execs as well, far outnumbering producers or entertainers, only a few of whom, including Lady Gaga and Judge Judy, make the list.
