Buffett’s Son on OWS: “We Saw Large Corporations Really Screw People”
12:15 pm, October 14th | by Amy Tennery
Howard Buffett might have earned a place on that list of rich celebrities supporting Occupy Wall Street. Turns out Warren Buffett’s son, a farmer and big-time philanthropist, has a bit of a soft spot for the protest.
Citing a major earnings gap in the U.S., Buffett said he believes that “we saw large corporations really screw people,” over the last decade-and-a-half, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
While Papa Buffett has remained relatively quiet on the protests, it’s not surprising that Howard would pipe up. His philanthropic group, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, focuses on helping disadvantaged communities.
What is surprising, however, is that Buffett would paint “corporations” with such broad strokes. After all, he has been known to travel in the same circles as this guy.
