If Your Kids Call The Nanny ‘Mom,’ Fill The Void By Shopping, According To Lucky Ad
3:30 pm, September 14th | by Laura Donovan
Lucky magazine has been pushing out some unusual ads lately, but none are as bizarre as this one, which boasts at the top of the page, “My kids call the nanny Mom…FILL THE VOID” above a pair of shoes. And they’re not just any ol’ pair of shoes. They’re magical, like Cinderella’s slippers, and will instantly fix your strained family dynamic.
Or so the ad claims…
So the moral of the story is be a neglectful parent, purchase new heels? It’s not that much better than Lucky‘s other shopping-related ads, one of which features a Mulberry bag below the words, “My boyfriend dumped me via text. FILL THE VOID.” I hate to burst your bubble, Lucky, but the effects of retail therapy fade quickly.
If your children view their babysitter as more of a mother than you, the solution isn’t to hit the mall or blow tons of money on stilettos. It’s to, you know, spend some time with your kids.
