Picture Of Jessica Simpson’s Baby In A Bikini Nothing To Freak Out About

Jessica Simpson just shared a photo of her new baby, Maxwell with the world, but some have taken to the Internet to complain that the snapshot is “embarrassing” and inappropriate. The picture, which features the four-month old in a yellow two-piece swimsuit, is getting some folks more riled up than necessary.

Maxwell is adorable, but a BuzzFeed writer fears the image will one day be a source of humiliation for the little girl:

“Dear baby Maxwell: this may be your first embarrassing moment that you’ll end up hating your mother for, but it won’t be the last.”

We’re with The Frisky scribe Jessica Wakeman on the non-issue, though:

“Look, I probably wouldn’t put my hypothetical infant daughter in a bikini. But I don’t think we need to slut-shame … er, baby-shame? — Jessica Simpson for dressing her infant daughter Maxwell in a yellow crochet bikini. Simpson shared the pic when she appeared on ‘Katie’ on Monday and BuzzFeed posted a screengrab of the pic with a post simply entitled ‘Why is Jessica Simpson’s baby in a bikini?’ I don’t know … because it was just summer?”

Seriously! It’s not that weird, and if anything, Maxwell will be miffed about her awkward newborn photo that graced the front of People…without her consent, of course. Glad my parents aren’t celebrities.
