Kate Beckinsale A Good Mom For Not Letting 13-Year-Old Daughter Have Facebook Account

“Click” star Kate Beckinsale seems like she’d be a cool mom. After all, she hardly looks old enough to have a teenager! But she’s the proud mother of fellow actress Lily, who may be the only 13-year-old in the world without a Facebook.

The “Republicans, Get In My Vagina!” parody performer recently said she lets a lot slide at home but will not allow her daughter to go on the popular social networking site:

“I can be a big softie. But there are things that are non-negotiable. For example, I recently let her colour her hair with a temporary purple dye, but I won’t let her have a Facebook account. I’ve got my own little code of things that I think are OK. I’m fine with things that are temporary. To me, Facebook is permanent.”

It’s also a time-waster, productivity killer, and cause of depression. Beckinsale’s family is better off without it, and the young lady is lucky she gets to live her life to the fullest rather than online, unlike so many of her Internet-obsessed peers.
