Why is a Kardashian getting married at Eric Schmidt’s place?

It’s time to ask the big, important questions in life. Like, where is Kim Kardashian’s wedding being held? Actually that is a big question, because it has a weird answer: at Eric Schmidt’s mansion in Montecito, California, according to the New York Post.

If you can’t be a real mogul, get married at one’s house sprawling estate, I guess? And Kim is definitely spending money on this wedding like a real mogul, with a $20,000 cake. And her dress is custom made by Vera Wang, according to The Huffington Post. Yawn — typical fauxgal fare. So, what other details are there on this locale?

Apparently Schmidt bought it for $20 million from Ellen Degeneres, according to All Things D, and it was the almost-wedding site of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, before the couple Giglied out.

But we can’t get over why Schmidt, the relatively low-key ex Chairman of Google, would lend his mansion to a Kardashian. He’s probably not interested in it for the fame, and we can’t imagine him being low on cash… maybe the mogul, like many Americans, simply admires Kim’s famous… reality TV show. Yep, that’s probably it. Or he’s starting a wedding business. Sure.
