Lay Off Kristen Stewart For Doing Threesome Scene

“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart is facing a backlash for engaging in a hot and heavy (and reportedly nude) threesome scene in new movie “On the Road,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this week, but the 22-year-old actress doesn’t deserve criticism for possibly sending a questionable message to young Twi-hards.

Responding to Stewart’s role in the much-anticipated flick, Dan Gainor of the Culture and Media Institute said the celebrity was “irresponsible” to behave in such a way onscreen, telling RadarOnline:

“In the film ‘On The Road,’ Kristen Stewart engages in a threesome and masturbates two male characters. How will parents who took their daughters to see the ‘Twilight’ movies explain this? It is irresponsible of Stewart and manipulative of Hollywood bosses.”

As noted by the New York Post, it’s unclear whether Stewart had heard about Gainor’s comment when she said at a Wednesday press conference, “I wanted to do [the scene]. I love pushing. I love scaring myself. I’ve always wanted to get as close to an experience as I could.”

She’s probably proud of trying something different, as anyone who takes career risks should be. If anything, she’s commendable for scoring gigs post-”Twilight,” as the saga is coming to an end and she must avoid being pigeonholed as Bella Swan. One could argue she didn’t have the “Twilight” teen and tween audience’s best interests in mind when she agreed to accept the frisky “On the Road” part, but she’s not responsible for looking out for her fans. That is their parents’ job, and Stewart has to take care of herself by paying the bills.

It doesn’t look like she’s trying to live up to Gainor’s standard, anyway. As she just told Elle U.K., “I don’t apply [being a role model] to the choices I make. I feel like a role model is not necessarily somebody you want to imitate, just someone you admire.” Moral of the story: Don’t force Stewart to be the Golden Girl when she hasn’t voiced an interest in holding that title.

I didn’t know Kristen Stewart was supposed to work only on roles that parents or Dan Gainor would approve….
I thought she was an actress and free to do whatever the fuk she wants.
    Silly me…thanks Dan Gainor….

    Exactly.

She’s still a role model, regardless of her onscreen work, especially if she does her work well. She seems like a decent human being, isn’t that role model enough? She can only do Disney movies now? SMH

Right? She’s not a sociopath, for God’s sake!

Sigh.  Because apparently all Twilight fans must now follow every movie Stewart does from here on out.  Yes, unassailable logic there, Gainor.  And because we all know how absolutely flawless the world view projected in Twilight is.  And so innocent, what with the C-section-cum-what-the-hell-is-he-doing-to-her-womb moment at the end of the latest one.  Stewart already had done some kind of seductive roles in other films before the series, too.   Oh well.  Sometimes, I tell ya.

Exactly. She was an actress long before starring in “Twilight” and has always gone for challenging roles. I wouldn’t say “Twilight” sends a good message about relationships, either.

This is the response the Harry Potter character got when he did a nude scene during a play.  I think people want them to stay little kid actors forever; ie Shirley Temple.

    Exactly, and people grow.

Did this person actually READ “On the Road?”

problem is you dont do kiddie movies and then go an do boarder line porn and not run into issues with parents.
If she a few years from now does the borderline porn that’s something else.

  • Just Another Blowhard

Not you, the offending person.  The threesome is not the most offensive thing in the book.  Haven’t seen the movie, I hope it is good.

This guy, Dan something, is insane. he should do some research instead of talking without knowing a shit. I mean… the girl got that role b4 all the twilight thing and if he had seen any of her previous movies, he would have noticed that most of K. stew roles have like a sexual tinge: Into the wild , Cake eaters, Yellow handkerchief, welcome to the rileys. She has a thing, idk what, that makes her perfect for those roles.

Actually, those kind of comments makes me sick..come on, the girl is free to play whoever she wants! It’s ridiculous, considering twilight wasn’t written 4 kids, it is 4 teens & young adults mainly. I have seen it but i’m not like a fan. I just didn’t hate it but I absolutely love “On the road” (the book) and I’m eager to see the movie adaptation (though my expectations may be a little bit too high haha). I wish there were more news about the film instead of shit about the actors.
