Genius: 2 Women Launch ‘LeLePets,’ Gilt Group For Your Dog

Our furry friends fare pretty well on the Internet and in the entertainment world, but were unable to take advantage of tons of major discounts until best buds Tiffany Leung and Joyce Lerman launched LeLePets, a bargain site for animals that sells products for up to 70 percent off retail price. Similar to companies such as Groupon, LeLePets provides sales lasting 72 hours (or until inventory runs out), and if you strike while the iron’s hot and buy something for your pet, the “LeLe” ladies will ship it to you promptly.
Unsatisfied with the “type of discounts on stylish [animal] products” currently on the market, Leung and Lerman started their own business, which has been fairly well-received so far, Lerman told The Jane Dough:
“Our members are extremely passionate about their beloved pets and reside throughout the 50 states. LeLePets members are online shoppers and share our passion for design-inspired pet products. Our customers/members love the unique selection of products we offer. They claim they’ve never seem a selection like ours on any other flash sale site. Our members has also commented on how great our customer service is. We pride ourselves on customer service and the simple and seamless shopping experience we’re able to provide our members.”
The best part? LeLetPets donates 1 percent of its annual earnings to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), as the LeLe ladies are “strongly against animal cruelty” (but really though, what good person isn’t?). The second best part? For every new member you bring to the site, you get a LeLeBug, which is a $1 credit.
Animals do have the most fun.
