UPDATE: This Is Not The First Time Kim Ridley Has Used Daughter Lexxa As A Model

You guys. We thought the provocative eBay ad in which Kim Ridley’s daughter drapes herself over his used Datsun was pretty gross. Little did we know this is not the first time Kim has used his daughter as a model — and the eBay shots weren’t even the most egregious ones!

Ridley readily admits that he uses his daughter’s likeness often to sell cars and motorcycles in an AdWeek interview:

“If I felt bad about it, I wouldn’t do it,” Papa Ridley—who runs Ridley’s Rides in Eugene, Ore.—tells AdFreak, adding that he often uses sexy snaps of his daughter and her pals to move product. “Girls and dogs attract people’s attention,” he says. He’s also used Max, his golden retriever, in ads, including a motorcycle shot with Lexxa driving and the dog in the sidecar.

Ahhh, so much to unpack here, but rather than do that let’s take a look at some of the other shots of Kim’s daughter, taken from his website. Click through if you dare.

Yeah, it’s weird, but I don’t get the whole outrage over it – the folks at The Blaze are freaking out over this.

The Blaze comments are a pit of slut shaming and misogyny, and the comments on this site’s earlier article suggest that people think a dad taking sexy pictures of his daughter’s bottom is tots cool. Is there no middle ground here? No “Well, seems like a poor choice on his part to objectify his own daughter, but let’s not lynch her.”?
In another article, it says that she isn’t his daughter, just an old friend. Which (to me) actually helps a lot.

Hey he got two for one! The daughter IS a dog!

You’re a good example of the decline in moral values in this country. Would you be ok with it if it was your daughter, sister, mom?

  • Chris Ference

if it wasn’t his daughter, it would still be someone else’s daughters
would you rather he was taking these pictures and keeping them to himself?
i don’t see the problem. it’s working after all. this guy and his wannabe model daughter just got themselves a whole lot of national exposure.

“used Datsun” For the last 30 years or so, any Datsun is a used Datsun.

Too much junk in the trunk.

I see nothing wrong with this if his daughter gave him her consent. It’s called advertising. There are many different types of advertisements and some are more appealing & target specific audiences. There is nothing wrong with his daughter posing for a male audience as long as he follows the law–and he’s not breaking the law as far as I can tell. Now if she was in the nude I could see where this could be headline worthy, but she isn’t. So why is this such a controversy? I don’t understand…

It’s creepy, I grant you. Just thinking about how the shoot would go: “Put your butt in the air, Honey.” “Alright, now boobs to the camera, Sweetheart.” Yuck.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Everytime you drool over some young, scantily clothed thing, think, that’s someone’s daughter. In my opinion, much ado about nothing here.

If they were okay with it – absolutely. I wouldn’t care at all. Yeah, it’s a little freaky but there’s nothing evil or immoral about it. “Babes & Cars” has been around FOREVER.

And yeah The Blaze is a pit of madness.

    Great point.

    ‘think, that’s someone’s daughter’

    That’s half the fun!!!!!

She’s covered with ink. Obviously the type who mom would love to see you bring home.

Let’s not forget how daughters leave their fathers to become daughters in the first place.
