Transphobic Ad Says You’re Not A Woman Unless You Menstruate [VIDEO]

Tampon commercials don’t often rank highly in the grand scheme of offensive advertising. You get your “active, happy ladies,” your blue liquid and you’re pretty much good to go. That is, unless you’re from the crack team of advertisers at Libra. Then things get horribly, terribly offensive.
Libra recently released an advertisement showing two people at a bathroom mirror shooting each other shifty glances while applying makeup. So, what’s the problem? Turns out that the two characters are “competing” to see which one can out-woman the other, according to Jezebel. And who wins? The woman on the right, in Libra’s version of the universe, after she pulls out a tampon. See, real women get periods, according to them. Hmm.
And, after some pretty serious backlash from the transgendered community, the ad has been pulled.
