Here’s How LinkedIn Plans To Get Girls Into Tech
7:25 pm, March 8th | by Hillary Reinsberg
LinkedIn routinely has “Hackdays,” where employees are allowed to work on special projects or try to throw together creative hacks. Essentially, a break from the regular routine. Now, they’re debuting a female-only version.
Given all the noise around “getting more women into tech,” it’s a good idea — and also not a huge surprise. LinkedIn folks tell Mashable: “We wanted setup the DevelopHer Hackday to encourage more women to get involved with tech. We hope it will help them develop their engineering skills and get a chance to network with and become inspired by other terrific women in engineering.”
Yup, we’ve heard that before. Still, a nice effort!
They’ll call the effort the “DevelopHer Hackday.” Because what’s a women’s event without a cheeky name?
