Proposal Crash And Burn: ‘Marry Me’ Plane Falls Into Ocean, But She Still Says Yes!

I’m all for creative proposals…so long as they’re safe!

Mike Flynn, who had planned to ask for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage, became the subject of a dangerous proposal when he commissioned pilot Mark Simmons to fly an aircraft with the banner “Michelle, Will You Marry Me? Mike.” Proposals of this nature happen all the time, but on this occasion, the plane went down into the water due to an engine failure.

It could have ended very badly, but thankfully Simmons was willing to give it another go the next day, when Mike’s original plan was finally in order and he could pop the question to Michelle. She said yes but had been confused when the first attempt went up in flames, so to speak:

“I wasn’t sure why it took him two days of pacing the beach just to propose to me on the beach…until I saw the plane.”

Good thing everything worked out on the second try…and that no one was hurt in the process! Who knew asking to share one’s life with another could be so difficult?!
