Alright, Internet, this one’s for you. I know you love your ’90s, with your “Hit Me Beanie Baby One More Time” UFO pants and “I choose you, Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger!” Pokégatchi cards. I understand that all that low-grade Ecstasy and pulverized Aggro Crag dust depleted your natural serotonin levels and now you can only be happy when talking about 23- to 14-year-old pop culture, so I decided to throw you this remote bone. (Share it with Tekno, your robotic puppy.) Granted, it’s not a list of the ’90s ninetiesest nineties to nineties on the ’90s nineties, but Maria Bamford is better than all that jazz anyway.
For Vanity Fair‘s Decades Series, Bamford and director Judd Apatow hung out in the dELiA*s warehouse (not really) and discussed the defining moments of the ’90s, from to O.J Simpson. Click the video below to find out Maria’s thoughts on Reality Bites; what costume should would paint on her naked body, à la Demi; and why she wasn’t sent to fight in Desert Storm.
