Mark Zuckerberg No Longer Able To Code?
5:29 pm, September 12th | by Hillary Reinsberg
Seeing a CEO hop on the assembly line and do the work of the company’s lower employees is always a bit of a thrill. For Mark Zuckerberg, it turned out to be an embarrassment. The Facebook creator, it so happens, has forgotten how to write code!
A New York magazine piece profiling some young tech wunderkinds (moguls, in the making for sure), includes a scene in which a Stanford student, interning at Facebook, witnesses Zuckerberg try his hand at some code as a team was putting the finishing touches on a product.
“Everybody was like, Ohhhh, Zuck’s gonna write code.”
So the team sets up a “simple bug” for Zuckerberg to fix. Something easy.
“Five minutes passed. Twenty minutes. An hour. ‘It took him like two hours to do something that would take one of us who’s an engineer like five minutes.’”
Kids these days!
The tech whiz Stanford student/intern in question is apparently in high demand from Silicon Valley companies. We wonder if his Zuckerberg-bashing just cost him a full-time offer at Facebook though.
