McCaskill Ups Security After Dumb Tea Partier Says ‘We Have To Kill Claire Bear’

It’s common knowledge that threatening political figures is just about one of the stupidest things a person can do, yet at least two right-leaning men have pulled this idiotic no-no in recent weeks. Outburst loving Ted Nugent had to meet with the Secret Service after he said he would either be dead or in jail if President Barack Obama were to be reelected in November, and Senator Claire McCaskill has had to up her security following a death threat from a Tea Party Express speaker.

Missouri Tea Partier, Scott Boston said of the Democrat at last week’s rally, “We have to get Claire McCaskill out. We have to kill the Claire bear, ladies and gentlemen. She walks around like she’s some sort of Rainbow Brite Care Bear or something, but really she’s an evil monster.”

What’s even more disturbing is that the remark was applauded by audience members, including McCaskill challenger Sarah Steelman’s son. Though it’s unlikely that Boston is actually going to try to hurt McCaskill, who now has more police patrols around her home and extra guards during public appearances, he should know by now that even joking about taking the life of someone in office is taken seriously by the public. Haven’t you learned anything from fellow conservative Ted Nugent’s mistakes?!

Listen to the creepy speech here:

Except that Ted Nugent didn’t threaten anybody.  The context is that he was speaking to a group of gun enthusiasts and he had been talking about how Obama has not honored the Constitution.  As a gun enthusiast himself, it’s easy to draw the conclusion from his remarks that if Obama were re-elected Obama may try to restrict gun ownership.  And Nugent has no intention of voluntarily surrendering his Constitutional right to own his guns.  If the government insisted and tried to take his guns away, then he’d either be in jail or dead.  If the government behaved like it did with the last Democrat president, Clinton, at Waco and Ruby Ridge, then Nugent would be killed by the government.  If the government used non-lethal force to deprive him of his Constitutional right to own guns, then they would throw him in jail.  Given the context of his remarks, that’s the reasonable interpretation.

Or you can just make stuff up, as most of the media has, and falsely claim that Nugent threatened the president.

On the one hand (and this is me speaking as both an Independent and as a writer), I always roll my eyes when people use a REALLY stupid choice of words. Simply because THEN they completely ruin whatever point they were trying to make. Not to mention, they squander any good will they had begun to generate and totally throw away any points they were actually starting to score.

And everyone, on BOTH sides of the political aisle, know what I’m talking about. It’s when someone blurts out something incredibly lame, in the heat of the moment, that clearly goes a step TOO far.  And I mean that in a common sense way, where the average listener would turn to the speaker and roll their eyes and groan out loud and say: “Oh, come on. Don’t go there. You were doing so well right until THAT.”

And it keeps going on. Again, as an Independent, I don’t think someone from the Right should be using language like this — but then again, As Mr. Picatinny correctly notes in this thread, on the flip side now you’ve got a total idiot like Sharpton claiming that IF you don’t love Obama with all your heart and soul — I mean in a wet, slobbery, tongues twirling French kiss sort of way — you MUST be a racist and part of  a “War on Blacks.”

REALLY?  Just because I think Obama and dolts like Pelosi and Reid have done a truly craptacular job of handling the economy, by driving us into $15 TRILLION in debt, or for trying to force socialized medicine down everyone’s throats, for daring — DARE, I SAY! — to have an opposing viewpoint, suddenly NOW I’m declaring an outright “war” on Blacks? Seriously, is anyone REALLY gonna buy this nonsense come Election Day?

This election is getting more and more pathetic. And while I don’t think anyone should ever use language that alludes to physically harming someone, the irony here is that given the things SHE has said and given the way SHE has run her reelection campaign in a down and dirty way, McCaskill is every bit as guilty of flinging the B.S. and heated hyperbole herself. Seriously, I can’t even remember the last time I saw such a hammy, over-acting “Woe, is me!” candidate who constantly finds SOMETHING to whine about as McCaskill.

Then again, that’s WHY her polls numbers are in the tank, and it’s WHY there will be at least one saving grace on Election Night. Because it will be cause to pop the champagne when this MORON is voted out of office and sent packing once and for all.

NO, the Tea Party and Boston both are idiots for using such ignorant and violent language.  Boston is the one costing us to pay more for her protection, he’s also promoting a violent act that most of us learned not to do with the shooting of a House member in Arizona.   It’s the Tea Party members and the low intelligent conservatives who foster violence in their speech that are the danger to us all.  Liberals don’t threaten people or use violence in their speeches.  It’s definitely the conservatives who are pathetic, but not all, it’s mostly some of the Tea Party supporters.

Oh my God, do agree with you on that.  It’s rare when any of the obvious Fox viewers actually back up any of their statements with facts, simply because it was something the heard on “Hannity” or “Fox and Friends”.   In fact, most of them are incapable of backing any of their statements because neither of these shows provide any.  To test this, listen or read what they say on these two shows and you’ll quickly understand their thinking, or actually lack of thinking.  Being a parrot for Fox is easy, but not researching the topic on your own is just laziness and a lack of curiosity.

Remember how when you were in the 2nd grade and you first heard the phrase, “it’s raining cats and dogs outside”?  Remember how, at the age of 7 when you were in the 2nd grade, you quickly came to understand that when someone says “it’s raining cats and dogs outside” how silly and unreasonable it is to go to the window and expect to see cats and dogs falling from the sky?

The examples you cite are examples of incendiary rhetoric.  No reasonable person expects to see Democrats heads chopped off in November or Ted Nugent shoving his machine gun down President Obama’s throat.  Just as no reasonable person believes that Republicans are machine gunning down women or hurling grenades into groups of women as they prosecute the much touted “war on women”.

It really gets old when people like you take a figure of speech and apply the literal definition of the words so that you can pretend to be outraged or offended.

Or maybe you are shocked when you don’t see cats and dogs falling from the sky.

Let’s see: “raining cats and dogs”. Why yes, there it is in the Cambridge online dictionary (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/it-s-raining-cats-and-dogs). Now, let’s see: “suck on my machine gun.”  Strange, that’s not in there.
So now that we’ve established that the two phrases are NOT equally quaint idioms, maybe you can understand that while very few reasonable people believe that Ted Nugent will personally murder Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, or decapitate Democratic politicians, when a charismatic loudmouth spouts words like that from a stage to an adoring frenzied crowd, it’s a cause for concern. And if you don’t think people are easily manipulated, consider the fact that Charles Manson and Jim Jones never killed anyone.

I have never heard of such a movie,  Can you tell me the title on it etc?  Otherwise, I think it just an excuse coming from the free-of-responsibility toting gun owners who think it is funny to post cross hairs and shoot democrats like Gabby.

You have never been taught responsibility and that is very clear because of the national debt you ran up under George W Bush.

  • Anonymous

No reasonable person thought someone would actually put Gabby in their crosshairs either,

  • Anonymous

you had me nodding my head until you began blaming Obama for the $15 million when any blind person knows that the national debt was $12 million when he took over and in addition to the debt, he now was encumbered with a medicare part D – the drug program that wasn’t paid for, the tax cuts for the rich that weren’t paid for, two wars that were started by Bush that weren’t paid for and not on top of all that, he had to pay for all the interest on Bush’s debt that had nothing paid for and republicans who had signed on to Grover “Hitler” Norquist’s demands that they never increase revenue,

Now, you say you are an independent, but you are acting like a rich, frat boy,

  • Anonymous

Well it  was called The Assassination of Gorge Bush.  By the way the person that thought up with the cross hairs on targeted districts was none other then Bob Beckel the Democrat consultant in 1976 for Jimmy carter and that is according to Bob Beckel when he was on the  Hannity Show right after the shoting of Gabby.

George Bush ran up a little over $4 trillion in 8 years with almost $2 trillion in the last 2 years because the Democrats held the house and almost a majority in the Senate.  I will grant that Bush was never a fiscal conservative, darn.

  • Anonymous

When George W Bush came into office, the national debt was $5,6 Trillion plus he got a budget surplus of over $128 Billion.  when the democrats took over congess in January 2007, Bush implemented the “Pay Go” system and the democrats had to make cuts to offset any new programs,  the only spending exception Bush made was his wars – he didn’t budget them, they were “emergency funds”

When George left in January 2009, the national debt was $10.7 Trillion plus he left a big fat bill of $1,.3 Trillion on President Obama’s desk along with a lot of unpaid bills like medicare part d, two wars and of course, a lot of interest for the doubled debt,
So, essentially George left a national debt of $12 Trillion and a lot of interest payments. and unpaid bills,

  • Anonymous

First the $128 billion was a projected surplus not actual surplus and that surplus was predicted before the 2000 tech bubble had burst.  As for the pay and go it went the same way as any other budget restraint has with the Democrats in power they just ignored it.

Well the $1.3 trillion was included in the $10.7 so it was still $10.7.  Don’t get me wrong this is still way to much and there should have been a lot more restraint while the Republicans were in charge both houses but they did not do thier job as they should have to they’re ever lasting shame.  On the other hand the DemocRATs have not submitted a budget in the last 3 years and it looks like they will not be doing it this year ether and don’t try to blame the Republicans because it only takes 51 votes to pass a budget not 60 and the House has sent 4 budgets as the law requires to the Senate over the last 4 years and Harry Reid would not allow them to come to the floor for a vote.

  • Anonymous

petersenonmain said, “On the other hand the DemocRATs have not submitted a budget in the last 3 years”.

That’s funny, when I Google “President Obama budget for 2011″, ”President Obama budget for 2012″, and  ”President Obama budget for 2013″, I get all kinds of articles from both the Left and the Right about his budget proposals getting to Congress.

Where they get voted down by the GOP dominated House of Representatives.

  • Anonymous

Of course Harry Reid won’t allow the crazy Paul Ryan budgets to come to a vote.  He wants to cut out every program for poor people so that they can cut taxes on the rich again,  not only that, he wants to leave old people without any social security or medicare,  talk about death panels – maybe the Sarah Palin needs to take a good look at Ryan’s budget,

Remember that 97% of “scientists believed the earth was flat back then. Soooo..I think it makes the pro MAN MADE global warming crowd the flat earthers. You refuse to even take in to account all of the scientific studies that show your theory of MAN MADE global warming doesnt hold water to why the earth is actually warming. The real reason for global warming is sun activity, volcanoes, and the climates natural heat and cooling cycle that has been going on for years. Read up on the newer studies the mainstream media doesnt tell you about and you would see.  You see, man made global warming advocates (today’s flat earthers) cannot explain why there was an ice age and then little ice age and now there is no ice age. What caused the warming during those times of extreme cold to hot shifts? Were the dinosaurs driving around in SUV’s causing the ice to melt? Why is there global warming on Mars? Is it because of all those Martian factories?  You can just run a quick google search and find plenty of studies that show PLENTY of reasons besides MAN that the earth is warming. Even NASA studies showed otherwise. Then this year the head of NASA comes out in favor of man made global warming. Immediately following 50 NASA scientists come out and write a letter to the head of NASA expressing their disappointment in NASA taking this extreme position despite all of the evidence to the contrary. You see, you put too much trust in what the government media complex tells you. Do your own research and think for yourself. You will realize that not everything can be taken at face value. Everyone has an agenda. MAN MADE global warming theory has become so politicized that no fruitful scientific debate actually occurs in the mainstream about it. Any study that comes out to discredit the theory is immediately buried due to politics. It is sad really.

You cite a story in the WaPo as fact. That proves you dont have much of a filter for where you get your info. Being registered as an independent does not make you moderate. Being registered as an independent only means you dont affiliate with either party. Just because I am a conservative does not mean I am a Republican. Just because you are a liberal it does not mean you are a democrat. You see, I never said this guy was a Dem. I stated he was a lefty. There are plenty of registered independent lefties at Occupy. So dont cite some backwards biased newspaper like its fact. That would be like me citing Fox news. You wouldnt take that very seriously now would you? Lautner was a lefty. His favorite books were some of left wing favorites. He went on left wing rants often. His classmates described him as left wing. Lautner hated Giffords because she was a blue dog democrat. She was too conservative for him. Once again, being a democrat doesnt make you a liberal.

Even if all you say is true what’s the harm in being green? None. It’s the same with oil. All the conservatives laugh and criticize others for trying out electric cars etc. but oil is a finite resource and eventually we’ll run out. Why not get ahead of the game? If you stand in the way of progress, you’ll get run over.

  • Anonymous

I agree with everything you just said. I believe we should head towards green for the reasons you mentioned and some others. I do not believe we should do it by regulating businesses out of business though (through EPA, etc.). Im not so obnoxious that I refuse to save money. I drive a Honda Fit. I would LOVE to get off foreign oil. There has been speculation that the US is sitting on a trillion gallons of oil. We can start by finding safe ways to drill here at home and lessening our dependence on OPEC for good. While we are using the oil we have drilled for here at home we need to be rigorously searching for effective hydrogen power mechanisms. I think that most level headed people want the same goal here but politics is not allowing a fair debate of the issue at hand.
