Meghan McCain Channels Sarah Palin’s Look On Cover Of New Book

Daily Beast columnist Meghan McCain knows a little something about amusing book covers.

Her first book, “Dirty Sexy Politics,” which reveals her experiences on the 2008 presidential campaign trail, has her sitting on an elephant on the front cover. Her upcoming book with comedian Michael Ian Black, “America, You Sexy Bitch: A Love Letter to Freedom” features her in a Palin-esque red outfit equipped with an American flag pin and employing the former vice presidential candidate’s signature hair poof. Waving at the camera alongside the funnyman, she brings to mind images of the previous presidential race, which paid an unnecessary amount of attention to Palin’s wardrobe and trademark appearance. We also know that Palin and Meggie Mac weren’t BFFS on the trail, but it’s the thought that counts, right?

In case you were wondering, the collaborative work will hit bookshelves June 5 and detail Ian Black and McCain’s experiences meeting all types of people during a cross-country trip. The Amazon description explains the book as such:

In the summer of 2011, McCain and Black embarked on a balls-out, cross-country tour. Along the way, they spoke to politicians, gun lovers, abortion-rights advocates and opponents, gay parents, flag burners, Muslims, poker players, Tea Partiers, Minutemen, veterans, teen moms, bikers, fast food workers, and a hooker or two. They toured the White House. They fired semiautomatic weapons. They stopped and ate at every Olive Garden along the way. But mostly they talked to each other about their differences, their similarities. It’s Chelsea Handler meets Hunter S. Thompson in a political cannonball run across America.

Sounds like a cooler version of Pee-Wee’s big adventure, only far better because Olive Garden was involved! Though I’m interested in reading about McCain and Ian Black’s encounters with good old Americans, I really hope the book devotes some space to Olive Garden rankings. I hear the one in Grand Forks, North Dakota is phenomenal.
