Melissa McCarthy is Terrifyingly Excellent in SNL‘s “Women’s Meeting”

I was sixteen-years-old when I first watched The Secret; I was at my friend’s house and the selection was made at the behest of her mother, a so-called “guru-in-training.” I distinctly remember trying to play it cool, pretending like my life hadn’t been changed forever, however I promptly went home and created a vision board. I collaged photos of gardens, expensive clothes, a “cool looking” bike, and an arm with a bunch of tattoos. Well, I currently live in a sixth-floor walk-up with no yard, I’m wearing clothes I bought three years ago, I’ve been riding the same bike since high school, and I’m entirely too afraid to get a tattoo. Things are going great!
Although none of my visions came to fruition, I did think I had the world’s dopest vision board — that is, until Melissa McCarthy revealed her’s on Saturday Night Live this weekend. McCarthy’s vision board put all of my cutesy Pinterest hopes and dreams to shame and then buried them in a deep, deep grave.
This weekend’s SNL was also Seth Meyer’s last show, a heart-wrenching and emotional swan song for the performer who has hosted Weekend Update for a record-breaking eight seasons. Knowing full well that viewers were going to be overwhelmed with emotion, producers brought in the human equivalent of a heart band-aid: Amy Poehler. If leaving is what it takes to lure Amy in, I’ll become a full-time drifter. Below watch Meyer’s touchingly sincere Weekend Update, featuring appearances from Poehler, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Fred Armisen:
