This 3-Year-Old Girl Is Mensa’s Youngest Member, Way Smarter Than You

Would it upset you to know you’re dumber than a 3-year-old? What if that 3-year-old were a Mensa member?

That’s exactly the case for Emmelyn Roettger, a 3-year-old who recently became the youngest person in the U.S. ever to join Mensa, when she was accepted at age 2 in March (she turned 3 last month).

So, what makes Roettger such a genius? For starters, she has an IQ of 135 — and she was able to start writing down letters before she was two (she could recognize letters at 15 months, by the way).

And here’s a video of Roettger being way smarter than any of us:

Impressive, but you could see she was hesitant on some of them, obviously practiced and memorized.  She definitely showed intelligence, but I don’t know what makes this an example of MENSA level intelligence.  Either way, good for her.

Intelligence is based on nurture, not nature.
