Update: Metro-North Financial Analyst Ranter says She Feels “Raped by the Internet”
10:32 am, July 19th | by Amy Tennery
Anyone who’s been on the bad end of a viral internet meme knows it’s no picnic. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Hermon Raju, the finance whiz kid who reportedly works at BNP Paribas and rose to internet infamy following her Metro-North meltdown, isn’t thrilled by the attention she’s gotten in recent weeks.
You may remember finance-(maybe?) mogul-in-training Raju by one of her many easily repeatable catchphrases: Do you know what schools I’ve been to?! and “I’m not a crazy person, I’m a very well-educated person! Well, according to our friends at Mediaite, she’s back.
Raju has apparently hired a “crisis management” public relations firm to (try to) rehabilitate her image, according to the New York Daily News. Unfortunately her efforts seem to have attracted even more negative press her way. Why? Well, apparently she wrote a rather poorly worded letter to her new image consultants. And it was leaked.
“The public only knows the two minutes of my dispute that were shown on the video that went viral… I can honestly say I feel raped by the internet…. unbelievable how my dispute on the train made me so despised.”
It’s Raju 2.0: more outrage, same tone-deafness.
