Galleon Trader Kimelman (Who Turned Down Non-Jail Plea Deal) Convicted
2:04 pm, June 13th | by Amy Tennery
Remember that Galleon Group trader who was so convinced of his innocence that he turned down a non-jail plea deal, even though he faced as many as 45 years behind bars, if convicted?
Yea. He was just found guilty.
Michael Kimelman was convicted of of one count of conspiracy and two counts of securities fraud this afternoon. Oh dear.
One of his codefendants, Emanuel Goffer, received the same conviction, while the other, Zvi Goffer, was convicted of 14 counts of securities fraud and conspiracy.
First question: I wonder how much jail time he’ll get?
Second question: What the $@!&^! was he thinking?!
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for any updates. Like if Kimelman invents a time machine.
