Malkin Launches “Twitter Curation” Site For Those Too Lazy/Cool To Follow People On Twitter
12:30 pm, March 7th | by Laura Donovan
If you are too lazy or cannot be bothered to follow people on Twitter, you’ll appreciate conservative commentator Michelle Malkin’s new venture TWITCHY, a “ground-breaking Twitter curation site powered by a kinetic staff of social media junkies.”
The pundit announced today that her site aims to “[mine] Twitter to bring you ‘who said what’ in U.S. politics, global news, sports, entertainment, media, and breaking news 24/7.”
The site, which has sections for entertainment, general news, politics and sports, among other things, brings readers up-to-the-minute tweets from prominent people in each area. The Colorado Springs-based site will provide its audience with “buzz-worthy tweets, reactions, and memes long before traditional media outlets decide it’s ‘breaking.’ Unlike the current generation of Twitter aggregators, TWITCHY.COM will be driven by an eclectic mix of human curators whose judgment can’t be replicated by computer algorithms.”
TWITCHY seems like a solid project for staying technologically current, but at present comes across as a glorified version of Twitter lists.
