Who Knew Elizabeth Warren Married Her High School Sweetheart? 6 Female Politicos As Teens

High school graduation season has ended, but memories from one’s formative years never go away–and the same goes for pictures from that time period. It’s fun to look at old snapshots of successful female ladies and wonder whether they knew as kids that they’d lead amazing, high profile lives. Many of them were high achievers from the start, so they probably always had an inkling that good things would come their way. Echoing Mediaite‘s new post on media personalities in high school, here are a few photos of our favorite political women during their late teens.

1.Hillary Clinton

The Secretary of State was born in Illinois and attended Maine South High in 1965. Her driver's education teacher said of the former first lady, "You remember the kids who are strong, who are motivated, who can support a position. Hillary was that kind of girl."

2.Michelle Obama

Earlier this year, the first lady laughed about her prom photo on "Ellen." Obama attended Whitney Young High School and went to prom with David Upchurch. Their relationship didn't last beyond graduation, but we're thankful for that. Had she stayed with her high school sweetheart, she may never have gotten to know Barack and married him!

3.Elizabeth Warren

The Massachusetts Senate candidate was a debate team champion at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma. She even married high school sweetheart Jim Warren, but the two divorced after a decade together.

4.Nancy Pelosi

The House Minority Leader was born in Maryland and a student at the Institute of Notre Dame.

5.Michele Bachmann

The former presidential candidate is from the Midwest and cheered for Anoka High.

6.Sarah Palin

Sarah "Barracuda" Heath helped lead the girls' basketball team at Wasilla High but was no star. Her coach said of her skills, "She wasn’t a great athlete. She wasn’t blessed with exceptional athletic ability." Politics worked out better for her, I suppose.
