Michelle Obama Reveals Her Hilarious Prom Photo On The “Ellen” Show

Maybe it’s just because she’s, you know, The First Lady and all, but somehow I expected Michelle Obama’s prom dress to be a bit prim — even stuffy. Oh how wrong I was.

During a live telecast on the “Ellen” show (while promoting her Joining Forces Initiative, which supports military families), Mobama revealed her prom outfit. And it is, to borrow a somewhat old-fashioned phrase, quite “va-va-voom.”

Metallic gold! With a matching metallic gold jacket! And a slit up the side. The First Lady might have thought it “was a little high” — but I think it’s just right. She looks amazing. Also, it’s worth noting that her date was sporting a rad ‘stache. And that she’s posing for her prom picture while sitting in… a wicker chair? There’s so much happening here. I love it.

Did she go to the prom with her father? Her date sure looks old. That dress actually beats the hoochi mama dresses she wears these days. Like the one she wore to, of all places, a children’s award event. At least the prom dress wasn’t 4 sizes and 30 years too young for her. Classy, she’s not.
