So... Yea.
Dog Barbecue Bystander To Host Party For Ann Romney
1:40 pm, April 13th | by Laura Donovan
I’m the biggest dog person you’ll find, but even I think the awful Mitt Romney Seamus story needs to disappear.
We all know how much media outlets love rehashing scandals, so they’re going to have an easier time keeping this one alive now that Frederick Malek III, who was condemned for standing by and watching as a drunk friend killed and barbecued a dog in 1959, is hosting a party for potential first lady Ann Romney.
That isn’t to say Malek is a canine eater, though, as he told the Washington Post in 2006 that “he didn’t know why [his buddy] had killed the dog, that he was not a participant and that he was in no position to stop it.” You know that line in “Mean Girls” in which Janis Ian says “there are two kinds of evil people in this world. Those who do evil things and those who see evil things and don’t try to stop it”? We’re pretty sure Malek is the latter.
Because so many people just can’t seem to get enough of the Romney car roof debacle, the campaign would have been better off not having an event held by someone with the words “dog” and “barbecue” attached to his name.
