So... Yea.
Super Bowl Sunday: We’re All Going To Spend $50M On Food Tomorrow
1:00 pm, February 4th | by Amy Tennery
We are hungry, people.
How hungry are we monstrous, food-gorging Americans? (And yes, I’m counting myself in that group.) Just check the stats for Super Bowl 2012 food-buying. We’re going to drink 325.5 million gallons of beer tomorrow. We’re going to consume 100 million pounds of wings. We’re going to inhale 53.5 million pounds of avocados. In other news, we are all animals.
This is according to the infographic you see below, from Dailyinfographic (data is from NFL.com). But in case you’re feeling bad about eating 1,200 calories in one sitting (that’s their estimate for average food consumed per person during the game), keep this in mind: Americans spend more than $50 million on food on Super Bowl Sunday.
See, we’re not pigs, we’re drivers of the American economy! Eat more! Create jobs!
