Survey: Electronics The Most Popular Valentine’s Gift Among Women

It seems like a no-brainer that most anyone would pick an iPod over flowers for Valentine’s Day (if we’re living in the fantasy land called Money Means Nothing). But yet another new study shows that, yup, women want gadgets for Valentine’s Day just as much as dudes. And, in fact, it may be a more popular option than virtually any other gift you could give your lady love/buddy/coworker/person you’d like to have know you exist.

A study released by the Consumer Electronics Association (yea, take this one with many, many grains of salt) claims that a full 80 percent of women in the U.S. are interested in a gadget gift. Shockingly, this is on-pace with the men.

And, just as we suspected, women don’t respond well to pink “branded” items, according to Jessica Boothe, a research manager at CEA who conducted the study.

“Forget pink. Women don’t want to be catered to with ultra-feminine looking products,” Boothe said. “They simply prefer lightweight devices.”

Women like fun gadgets that work well. You heard it here first.

Why is this so surprising, women, myself included, do love gadgets, but that’s where the similarity with men end.  I buy them because I need them for my business, so I can get more work done.  Women, do their homework before they go buy electronics, we know what we want before we go into the store.  Salespeople hate to see me coming because I have a laundry list of requirements when I go in and when I leave EVERYTHING IS crossed off of it AND I get it for the best price too.

I’m a chocolate lover, so chocolate over electronics for me.
