Nancy Pelosi To “Retire Right Now”?

Is Nancy Pelosi retiring? Or…rather, is this a lesson in why you shouldn’t have your daughter do unofficial PR?
In an interview with Big Government, Alexandra Pelosi, a 41-year-old political filmmaker, basically said her mother was dying to quit:
“She would retire right now, if the donors she has didn’t want her to stay so badly. They know she wants to leave, though. They think she’s destined for [greatness],” the younger Pelosi said. “She has very few days left. She’s 71, she wants to have a life, she’s done. It’s obligation, that’s all I’m saying.”
Only one problem: the younger Pelosi never actually spoke about it with her mother. From what we can tell, the two seem to have a good relationship, so it’s totally reasonable that Alexandra would have a good idea of what Nancy’s plans and feelings are. That being said, it’s not a great thing when everyone hears the most powerful woman in Washington is aching to get out.
