In this video documentary from The Atlantic, the New York City Ballet’s costume studio director Marc Happel explains how he custom fits the corsets — and yes, tutus — on the company’s many female ballerinas.
And, as though you needed another reason, the phrase “if it’s comfortable, I would take it in” should be proof enough that none of us would ever hack it in a ballerina corset.
