Newt Gingrich In His Studly, 1980s Film Days [MOVIE]

Have you ever taken a look at GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and wondered, “How does a guy like that have so much game?”
Clearly, you haven’t seen his 1984 appearance in HBO movie “Countdown to Looking Glass,” in which he plays himself. The flick was shot just a few years after he left his first wife for Marianne Ginther, and we all know it didn’t take long for history to repeat itself in the marital department, so “Countdown to Looking Glass” really shows Gingrich in his “hot guy” days. His hair looked great, he was on top of the world career-wise, and he was a movie star! Okay, I’m wrong about that last bit, but Gingrich has always had the charisma and spunk to light up the screen. At least he had the opportunity to play himself in a film, unlike the folks about which “Game Change” is based!
