More Women Watched The Super Bowl Than Total People Watched The Oscars

So, women watch the Oscars and men watch the Super Bowl, right? Enough with your stereotypes! They’re totally wrong!
As Brian McCarthy, also known as @NFLPRGuy (he actually does do public relations for the NFL), tweeted:
43.3 million women watched @giants-@patriots Super Bowl. 39.3 million women AND men watched Oscars Sunday
— Brian McCarthy (@NFLprguy) February 27, 2012
That’s right — more women watched the Super Bowl than total people watched the Oscars.
If you looked at some of the sexist or “debased” ads that appeared during the Super Bowl, you might think that women would be turned off from the broadcast. But as we’ve reported before, women are far more interested in watching football than is commonly perceived – Sunday Night Football is actually the third most popular primetime show among adult women.
