Did Occupy Wall Street Lie about Hosting a Radiohead Concert?

The corporate protesters on Wall Street had no problem attracting at least one high-profile mogul — but they may be having more difficulty attracting Radiohead.
Today, a website for Occupy Wall Street announced that Radiohead was performing for the (likely beleaguered) demonstrators, ostensibly in a show of good will. The interwebs erupted!
Now, however, it would seem that things have taken an unfortunate turn.
The Wall Street Journal tweeted out word that Radiohead wasn’t showing up after all, perhaps:
#Radiohead spox on #OccupyWallStreet performance: “we can officially say its not happening”
Did Occupy Wall Street lie about a Radiohead concert to get more people to join them in the Financial District? Did Radiohead intend to come but get cold feet? Or, are they planning a sneak concert attack?
If Radiohead isn’t showing up after all, it would be a sad state of affairs, right? A group of anti-corporate protesters can attract Russell Simmons but not Radiohead?
