Malls are a thing of the past, as this country hasn’t opened up a new one since 2006, so it’s no surprise that nearly a third of Internet users turn to the web for most of their shopping.
A new infographic by Baynote relays such information and states that the major increase in smartphone and tablet purchases have done a great service to the online shopping industry.
Fifty percent of people buy one to two items online and eight percent of people have ordered something off a mobile device this year. It makes sense that so many individuals keep coming back for more, as 86 percent of Internet shoppers report customer satisfaction. Eighty-three percent appreciate the ease of checkout and 82 percent feel they have a nice variety of products to choose from on the Interwebs. They’re also enticed by free shipping, which is hard to pass up. It can’t hurt that shoppers don’t have to deal with pushy or suspicious salesmen, either. Nothing ruins the shopping experience quite like one of those types.
