Personal Finance Advice… For A 9-Year-Old? [Infographic]

So, the President’s Advisory Council has released an infographic on “things kids need to know to live financially smart lives.” Disturbingly, I think a lot of the 20-something set is still figuring most of this stuff out.

Consider the information you see below. At age 9 I was supposed to know to save a dime for every dollar I received? Please, President’s Advisory Council, in the fourth grade I was mere months away from discovering what a Tamagotchi was. Dimes, my ass.

Also, telling a 16-year-old that “a great place to save and invest money you earn is a Roth IRA,” really? That’s going to go over great.

Read on and discover what you probably should have known for years now.
