Horrifying Video Shows Police Beating A Pregnant Woman Who Was Under Arrest
1:00 pm, July 11th | by Amy Tennery
Two police officers in San Antonio were caught on camera beating a handcuffed pregnant woman whom they had put under arrest.
The video was caught by Lorenzo Rios, who says he was standing across (what appears to be) a four-lane road from the arrest site when he heard the sound of a woman screaming. That woman, an alleged sex worker, was being arrested on a previous prostitution charge. Rios said he decided to capture the footage when he saw she was being held down and beaten by multiple police officers, when was already handcuffed. The video shows the alleged victim sustaining eight hits.
The woman in question reportedly stands at 5’1″ and weights 126 pounds. She is 21 years old and, Rios said, visibly pregnant.
In attempting to justify the beating, the San Antonio police chief gave a local news crew the old, “size doesn’t matter” talk — which seems patently preposterous given the parties involved.
