We here at The Jane Dough are deeply ambivalent about Valentine’s Day. When we were younger and single, we resented the holiday but also desperately wanted to be included; like eight-year-olds who think everything great happens after their bedtimes, we convinced ourselves that having a Valentine was the definition of bliss. When we were a little older and wifed up, we realized that getting a Whitman’s Sampler, a single rose from the corner bodega, and a handful of sex coupons (“GOOD 4 1 MEDIOCRE BACK MASSAGE”) wasn’t entirely fulfilling.

But just because this year’s plans involve sneaking hot toddies into a matinee of A Good Day to Die Hard doesn’t mean that we don’t want to share our love for you, dear readers.
