Pope Quvenzhané On Saturday Night Live

This weekend the diminutive comedian Kevin Hart hosted Saturday Night Live, and what the show lacked in polish (everyone seemed a little loopy) it certainly made up for in weird energy. Every sketch felt like the 12:50 AM sketch, if you know what I mean. One such example was a parody of CNN’s “The Situation Room,” in which Jason Sudeikis’s Wolf Blitzer awaited the announcement of the new pope.
As it turned out, the new head of the Catholic church was Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (played by Hart, still wearing her Academy Awards gear), making her the first black, first female, and first child pope the church has ever had. I…really didn’t know what to make of the sketch. Was it funny? Was it weird? Was it both? Neither? Check out the clip below via Hulu and let us know what you think:
