Rachel Zoe is Still Suffering from Assistant Betrayal
5:30 pm, March 2nd | by Meredith Lepore
Though she has claimed to be over it, Rachel Zoe still clearly feels betrayed by her former assistant Brad Goreski. They haven’t been on speaking terms since 2011, around the time he left her company to start his own and get his own reality show on Bravo. Rachel is now even more infuriated because his show will be on directly after hers on the network.
A source told The Daily Mail, “Rachel just can’t escape Brad! The two had parted on good terms initially, but she felt he was very shady about branching out on his own as a stylist and then getting his own reality show.” Plus, Brad apparently stole some clients of Rachel’s, namely Demi Moore. ’That’s not the truth,’ he told The Daily Beast in 2011. ‘And she knows that’s not the truth.’ He continued: “I didn’t even say goodbye to a lot of her clients because I didn’t want anything to be misconstrued as me soliciting anybody.”
The hurt may be so strong because Brad was not the first assistant to betray her. Taylor Jacobson, Rachel’s other former assistant who was also on the show, was accused of stealing clothes and clients from Rachel.
But are these former employees really abusing Rachel or is she letting it happen? There were many episodes when both Jacobson and Goreski were working there that showed Rachel not having good control over her employees. She would often let Taylor make major decisions for the company because she didn’t want anyone to get mad at her, like when she told Taylor to decide who got to go to Paris Fashion Week. And wasn’t it a little naive to think that Brad was just going to go get a different career after getting so much notoriety and attention from her show? What was he going to do, be a lumberjack? Not with those fabulous bow ties and loafers!
Rachel is providing anyone who works for her with an amazing opportunity as well as an amazing platform to launch their careers as stylists and anybody who doesn’t take advantage of that is not thinking of a long-term career.
Well, if there does turn out to be a feud it will just make both shows even better and they are already pretty fabulous. Like, seriously. I die.
