Rashida and Kidada Jones Are Developing a New Dramedy for The CW

Rashida Jones and her older sister Kidada Jones have been keeping busy: not only have they been modeling misshapen sweater turbans, and turning up in my dreams, asking me to be the unofficial third Jones sister and inviting me to sing lead for their Prince cover band (…what?), they are also developing an hourlong dramedy for our favorite purveyor of angsty men in tanks, The CW.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The CW has handed out a script order to The Revengers (formally known as Ladyballs), a series about ” two twenty-something estranged friends in search of love in New York who are reunited after learning that they’ve been dating the same guy” and set up a clandestine “payback” business. Rashida Jones will executive produce alongside her Celese & Jesse Forever writing partner Will McCormack. Model/actress/fashion designer Kidada Jones will produce for the first time. Prep School Confidential author Kara Taylor will pen the script. Neither sister is set to appear in the series.
This is the second sale for Rashida Jones and McCormack this development season. The pair are also developing Stuck, a comedy with Parks and Recreation writer Alexandra Rushfield, which has a put-pilot commitment from Fox. Considering that Tina Fey also has two women-centric television shows in development, it looks like the 2014-2015 season is going to be a great year for the lay-dayz!
