Rashida Jones Lands Another Pilot Deal

While you were racking up pumpkin scone recipes on Pinterest (none of which you are actually going to use, let’s be honest), Rashida Jones was busy making her parents proud, landing yet another pilot deal this buying season. Jones, along with producing partner Will McCormack and Cars 2 writer Ben Queen, is developing a single-camera romantic comedy for NBC. …Those better be some fucking delicious scones. Oh, they have chocolate chips in them? Oh that sound good.
The show, called A to Z, will be written by Queen and follows the “relationship between a young couple, comprehensively, from meeting to breakup, over the course of a season.” According to Deadline, Jones and McCormack have no plans to star in the series; the pair are executive producing with Queen.
The put pilot commitment from NBC marks the third sale for Jones and McCormack’s production company, Le Train Train: the duo have a pilot deal from Fox for Stuck and Jones is producing The Revengers with Kara Taylor at the CW. Not too shabby for the company’s first development season. Not to be outdone, Queen also has another project at Fox — an adaptation of the comic book Unthinkable.
