Research Confirms What We Already Knew: Men Are Disgusting, Germ-Ridden Creatures
1:00 pm, June 1st | by Laura Donovan
Do you remember saying “boys have cooties” or “girls rule, boys drool” as a kid? Turns out your 7-year-old self was onto something (and in that sense, it was a complete waste of time for you to continue school beyond second grade). New research finds that the workspace of dudes has a greater chance of being bacteria-ridden than that of females.
Researchers came to this conclusion upon surveying bacteria levels on phones, keyboards, desktops, chairs, and computer mice from 90 offices in New York City, San Francisco and Tucson (random!). What they found were larger bacteria communities among men than women, and this didn’t stun the academics because men typically have more skin to shed and aren’t usually as concerned about hygiene as women:
“Men are known to wash their hands and brush their teeth less frequently than women, and are commonly perceived to have a more slovenly nature,” the researchers said.
Moral of the story: Avoid boys like the plague, because you really will get it if you hang around men for too long.
