First off, it was John Kerry, and unlike Bush he served honorably and bravely in Vietnam, a fact that was confirmed by the entire crew of his Swift Boat despite the best efforts of Karl Rove to spin it otherwise.  And yup, John Edwards was a real scum, but it’s probably a bad idea to get into a tit-for-tat breakdown of total scum, letches and adulterers GOP vs Dem.   Because, lest the dial not stray far from Fox in your house, a very incomplete list of gems the family values party gave us would include: David Vitter, Mark Foley, Newt Gingrich, Larry Craig, Ted Haggard, Bob Allen, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Christopher Lee etc, etc.    In spite of that, I know many Republicans who are fine upstanding people, so even though scores of perverts, adulterers, and sexual hyprocrites have found shelter in the GOP, it does not mean that all Republicans are scum and more than the pathetic revelations about John Edwards private life in any way reflects in the democratic party.    A little time away from Fox and Nebraska might do you a world of good.
