This Makes My Day: Robin Roberts Gets Special Access To Vatican To Pray For Supporters

As you may have heard, Robin Roberts, a breast cancer survivor, is currently battling a blood and bone marrow disorder. But the tough news anchor at Good Morning America, true to form, is fighting her disease tooth and nail. And now, she’s taking time out to generously offer her thanks to her thousands of supporters. The newswoman recently traveled to Italy and was granted special access to the Vatican, where she prayed for those who have been praying for her since she went public about her rare disorder two months ago.
“Given special access to the Vatican in Rome today. Saying prayer for all who have prayed for me. XO,” Roberts tweeted. This resonated with “Dancing with the Stars” finalist Bristol Palin, who penned a supportive blog post about the TV anchor on Friday:
“Robin Roberts, as I’ve written before, is one of my favorite television personalities.
She’s kind, respectful, and her calm manner makes it much more comfortable to be on camera. She’s the most down to earth celeb I know! When I was in New York, I found out that Robin, a breast cancer survivor, is battling a blood and bone marrow disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome (likely caused by her cancer treatment).
Let’s remember to keep Robin in our prayers as she continues to fight this disease! We love you!”
It’s nice to see media folks looking out for each other during rough periods. Happy Friday.
