Roseanne Barr Calls “Bulls–t” On Ann Romney, Attacks Her “Toned Ass”

Many defended Ann Romney when political consultant Hilary Rosen charged that the prospective first lady has “actually never worked a day in her life,” but comedienne Roseanne Barr still has plenty to gripe about.

As she argues in a Daily Beast column, Barr thinks the Michigan native’s “Big Mama” shtick is “bulls–t.”

“Mrs. Mitt Romney claims to have worked her toned ass off, raising five Romney males all on her own, as privileged wives often do — but, no, Ann, I call bulls–t on your Big Mama story, girlfriend,” Barr writes.

As we’ve seen in previous elections, people spend way too much time chattering about the bodies of potential first ladies, but I don’t recall Ann ever wearing anything that would highlight her apparently impressive derriere — or give her the appearance of a cross-dressing Martin Lawrence character (she employs a different spelling of “momma” here, but the meaning and implication remain the same). Jokes aside, Ann is no less a mother for having the luxury of staying home with her five boys as her husband worked, and if she maintained a “toned ass” all throughout the raising of her kids, more power to her. Although it’s not all that uncommon for moms to be in shape — after all, they’re chasing little ones all day and that’s quite a workout if there ever was one.
