How Sweet: Russell Brand Says Palin Is Popular Because ‘People Want To F-ck Her’

Comedian Russell Brand demonstrated a surprising level of sexism at a Television Critics Association panel over the weekend when he said former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has only risen to the top because “people want to fuck her. That’s why they tolerate the other stuff.”
I can’t tell you how awesome it is to see men reduce women to their sexuality or looks. But Palin of course is not new to this kind of misogyny or objectification. Earlier this year, former Senator Arlen Specter wrote in detail in his new book of sitting next to Palin on the bus:
“[S]he radiated sensuality. Her skirt rode above her knees — not exactly short, but close.”
And of course HBO’s Bill Mauer famously called her a “bimbo” as well as the unforgivable “c” word, once again circling back to her gender. Enough, guys!
