Lochte’s Mom Didn’t Mean To Say Son Goes On One-Night Stands

Much of America was ready to hate Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte when his mother said he “goes out on one-night stands,” as her son is “not able to give fully to a relationship because he’s always on the go,” but, being a mom, she didn’t even know what that was.

In a Friday interview, Mama Lochte said the press misunderstood her and that she’d never describe her son as a womanizer who prefers his romance with reckless abandon:

“All I wanted to say is that he’s so sensitive about not wanting to hurt a girl dating, so he just goes and dates and takes out a girl for maybe one or two dates and doesn’t have a relationship because he doesn’t have (time) and it’s not fair to the women. I thought that was so sensitive, but then they turned it around. I’m not used to this…What kind of mom is going to say that [about her son]? Especially being a mom and having two daughters.”

Yeah guys, how dare you think she was talking about a no-strings-attached hook-up session when she said “one-night stand”?
