Cal Thomas: Palin’s Baby Made Her Unprepared For VP Race

But while it’s not popular with most of the big-name GOP set, a Fox News Watch panel on Sunday defended the movie, arguing that it showed the tremendous uphill battle Palin faced just getting prepared for a campaign. Which is fair; objectively, many would argue that Palin was at a disadvantage in the weeks leading up to her debut on the ticket. Unfortunately, the Fox panel pointed this out with a hefty side dish of condescension.
In the clip below, procured by Mediaite, panelist Cal Thomas notes that the movie made him feel more sympathetic toward Palin.
“She was put into a situation she was not prepared for,” Thomas argued. Okay, sure. “She was not able to be a quick study on a lot of the issues,” he added. Yep, true. “She wasn’t ready for the job! I was very sympathetic. She got picked less than a year after having a baby.”
Wait, back up. She was unprepared to run for vice president because she had a baby less than a year earlier? Did the baby drive her mad somehow? Does having a baby somehow make a person incompetent? By this logic, someone probably should have chucked her out of the governorship since she had Trig while she was still in office. Right?
