Sarah Silverman Supports the Black NRA

Clearly we love Sarah Silverman. We love her potty mouth; we love that she looks like the kind of apathetic, teenage babysitter who would let her ten-year-old charges watch Cruel Intentions and eat ice cream for dinner; we love her ability to turn everything into a dick joke; we love the heartbreaking obituary she wrote for her dog and the essay she wrote about losing her virginity to a thirty-year-old comic from Queens. We love that adorable, filthy dame and finally, after years of grumbling whenever we put her stand-up on and lecturing us about the appropriate conduct for ladies, there is something that our conservative, gruff grandfathers can love about her too: Sarah Silverman is a National Rifle Association spokesperson. We’re sure Pepaw will be elated when he hears the news; he might even get up from his La-Z-Boy!
In a PSA on Funny or Die, Silverman joins comedians David Alan Greer, Ron Funches, and Deon Cole in announcing launch of the Black NRA. Finally we are providing arms to the American citizens who need them most: young, African American men. Yes, both the new branch and Silverman’s affiliation with the NRA are fake but the message is too real. And don’t worry about Pepaw; we’re sure that he’s not going to mind the deceit — he’s fake too.
