Sarah Silverman Entirely Unimpressed By Women With Jobs, Sings About It [VIDEO]

It seems Sarah Silverman came across The Hollywood Reporter‘s Top Women issue. And her response is in song, of course.

“You won’t believe it, I just read an incredible article about women…who have…JOBS!” Needless to say, Silverman is less than impressed by an issue of a magazine devoted to the most powerful women in Hollywood — and she’s tweeted a whole video about it. Make of that what you will.

She would likely get very sarcastic, if she found a web site devoted to women with jobs. She might even call it sexist.

Poor Sarah, I think this is about the 1000th attempt of hers to become relevant.

one simple word to describe her, cunt.

I thought it was the funniest thing I’ve heard her do so far. And she didn’t use the “V” word once.

    Wow…mighty impressive.

That girl has a whole lot of talent.
I think we all just witnessed an evolution in comedy.
Is it true that she actually just did all that right off the cuff…..?
    Simply amazing.

I don’t believe in ghosts.  If there were ghosts, the spirit of Lucille Ball would be clocking this bimbo every morning for calling herself a comedienne.

I like her. She’s constantly inventive, and always has a point to make. I’m certainly looking forward to her 2012 campaign video to threaten nanna & gramps into voting for Obama, or else … maybe no visit next Christmas!

She’s making a point about how women shouldn’t be especially celebrated because they can work like men can. She’s saying that, in 2011, articles which point out that women are just as capable as men are actually setting women back because they reinforce a long-dead notion (in liberal circles, at least) that women are not capable workers. I understand that nuance is something that “conservatives” aren’t very good with, so I’m just here to point this out for you.

Conservatives can go on hating women who don’t perform the role of baby factories while the rest of America recognizes that there’s nothing special about women working.

We do have jobs but the important thing is, do we still please our man? Do we fix ourselves up, keep the house clean, cook his dinners? That’s what I learned when I read “The Total Woman” back in the ’70′s. (One of the funniest books I’ve ever read BTW)

    Another vile Jew.

That was back in the days when the divorce rate wasn’t 50%. Have we really progressed?

  • Christy

Just because people stayed married and there were fewer options for divorced women doesn’t mean we were happier.  Staying in an unhappy marriage does not success make.

Sarah Silverman is one of the funniest people alive, male OR female, and this is one of the funniest things she’s ever done.  Of course its subtlety is completely lost on right-wingers–therefore the idiotic blowback above.

  • Bill

Just for the record, although Lucille Ball was an incredibly funny actress, she was a very humorless woman–and Silverman is a very funny human being as well as a great performer.

    *LOL*

Sarah Silverman just perfectly mocked this stupid blog :-)

No Bill, she’s OK and definitely

  • Smack80

So many things have changed since the 50′s, not all for the better. But, I would not want to go back. It’s just the way the world works, things change, we move forward, right or wrong.

  • http://twitter.com/LNSmithee L.N. Smithee

You see, Bill, that’s why Lucille Ball was so superior.  Accepting your premise that she was “an incredibly funny actress” but “a very humorless woman,” and that Silverman is “a very funny human being” (presumably behind the scenes), Lucy had her priorities straight — She was funny when it counted and not when people weren’t watching.

You folks are right of course. I was there too. Apologies.

  • Juli3

Seriously ?  I can’t imagine Amy Pohler or Tina Fey ever telling rapes jokes, which happen to be a favorite topic of humor for Silverma.  I find her about as funny as Andrew Dice Clay.
